ALVIN, TX: Jay Gubert, Vice President of VirtualTone recently announced the company is sponsoring a hole at the Joe Joe Bear Foundation golf tournament on September 12, 2016 at the Club at Falcon Point in Katy, Texas. The event will include the golf tournament, lunch, and dinner for the participants, and a silent and live auction. All the funding will help the foundation in their mission to comfort children who are alone and scared while in the hospital.

The Joe Joe Bear Foundation was created in memory of Joseph David Ordaz who lost his battle with cancer in 2009. As a caring and strong individual, Joe had big dreams and wanted his life to count for something. Even in pain, he always wore a huge smile and continued to be brave despite what he was going through. One day, Joe requested a teddy bear to keep him company when he was alone and scared. He said having the bear was like having the people he loved around him. The Foundation is his legacy and provides comfort to sick children during their stay at the hospital.

The charity was created to keep Joe’s memory alive and to help others in the same situation. It saddened him to hear the children crying at night in the hospital when they were alone and scared. He would say, “I wish I could help comfort the sick children.”
